RESTAURANT SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER NEEDED IN LEKKI
Job Description
The person placed in this position will be responsible for achieving revenue goals by developing and executing sales and marketing plans, including building sales through telephone calls, in-person sales meetings and networking, marketing the entire restaurant, bar and lounge and functioning as a public relations spokesperson to promote the business locally.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Sales Functions:
1) Cultivate customer accounts and travel within the local area to develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the restaurant.
2) Attend events, as required, in order to build relationships with a network of potential customers and develop possible business opportunities.
3) Analyse local market trends and competitor activity to identify business leads
4) Receive and convert incoming enquiries to achieve targets and maximize revenue
5) Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all facilities and services provided within the restaurant, bar and lounge and identify opportunities for up-selling and promoting when appropriate
Marketing and PR Functions:
1) Prepare and implement a restaurant, bar and lounge marketing budget and plan.
2) Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the restaurant, bar and lounge stays ahead in the local market
3) Develop, implement and monitor creative local marketing channels, including social media
4) Manage and update restaurant, bar and lounge content on the website
5) Manage and update media database in cooperation with the PR agency
Plan and handle restaurant, bar and lounge individual customer emailing.
6) Manage an events schedule to maximize yield and ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events
7) Evaluate and implement local restaurant sponsorship activities and related advertising
Customer Service Related Functions:
1) Cooperate with other departments in the business to create an exceptional customer experience and ensure that a very high level of customer service is constantly maintained.
2) Serve as the main point of contact for VIP customers and ensure the restaurant, bar and lounge staff is fully briefed on their requirements.
3) Build strong relationships with customers in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively.
4) Manage, record and resolve customer complaints in a prompt and professional manner
General Responsibilities:
1) Produce accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of senior management to include the reporting of appointments, calls made and business leads
2) Attend all company meetings
3) Assist with other departments, as necessary
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:
Degree-level qualification in a hospitality and/or marketing field
Minimum 2 years Experience in a sales role with a proven track record to close a sale
A self starter who can work independently: displays self-confidence, enthusiasm and strong commitment to customer care
Excellent selling and networking capability
Knowledge of local market
Knowledge of hospitality
Excellent organizational and planning skills. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
