Position Legal / Company Secretary Work Stream

Summary of Responsibilities
The company secretary is responsible for ensuring the compliance of the company to financial and legal practices as well as issues of corporate governance. Also, is the point of contact between the company and regulatory bodies.
Details of Responsibilities • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action.
• Develop and over see the systems that ensure that company complies with all applicable codes, as well as her legal and statutory regulations.
• Handle contractual agreements between company and third parties.
• Advise on assets and property issues .
• Draft, generate, review and advice management on legislative matters.
• Liaise between company and Corporate Affairs Commission.
• Monitor and protect company proprietary items like copyrights; trade marks; patents; and industrial designs.
• Educate company on compliance issues as it relates to proprietary information.
• Advise company on labour/employment laws, regulations and compliance issues.
Qualifications LLB, BL
Relevant Skills / Experience 3 - 5 Years post qualification work experience;
Business statutory requirements:
Interpretation and administration of contract laws; Good interpersonal skills; Negotiation skills; Good communication skills; Attention to details; Organized approach to work; Tactful, diplomatic approach and confidence to liaise with high-profile external bodies; Computer application skills: [MS Suite]; Problem solving skills; Excellent writing skills.
Relational Assignment with other Streams All Streams.
