Job Position: Structural Engineer
Location: Lagos
Job Description
* Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
* Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
* Coordinate all projects/design engineers and CAD technicians from planning stage through final construction.
* Conduct audit, interviews and inspections of materials.
* Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
* Assess potential risks, materials and costs
* Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies
* Review engineering design, specifications and standards.
* Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders
* Handle over the resulting structures and services for use
* Monitor progress and compile reports in project status
* Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials
* Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required
* Review job proposals including QC/QA Plans.
* Ensure enforcement and close-out of observation/issues on project under supervision within stipulated time
Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Structural/Civil Engineering with advanced technical knowledge and training obtained from a reputable construction firm
* Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD,Civil 3D or similar
* Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc
* Project management and supervision skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A registered Structural Engineer (SE) and Professional Engineer (PE) license will be an added advantage.
* Membership of a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and/or Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
* MA in Structural/Civil Engineering a plus.
